Official RobotBASIC Pre-Announcement
Sam, one of the great minds behind RobotBASIC, made an announcement on the RobotBASIC list:
I have three items of news you may be interested in:
1-There is an interesting new article that uses RobotBASIC in Servo Magazine (http://www.ServoMagazine.com)
The article shows how you can build a Quadrature Encoding Controller and features a Quadrature Encoding Simulator written in RobotBASIC. The simulator helps you teach and train students on the principles of Quadrature encoding. You can download the simulator program from http://www.robotbasic.org/resources/Servo200902_QuadratureEncoder.zip
The developed hardware was actually used in the Space Station project featured in one of our earlier Youtube videos.

2-We have just posted THREE new videos on Youtube. Please give us ratings and comments if you can (favorable ones only?..no seriously any comments would be appreciated?) See below for the list.
3-The new version of RB will have a new suite of functions that provide DIRECT support for a very useful and powerful device by
USBmicro (http://www.usbmicro.com/products.html ).
The U401 and U421 are USB devices that provide 16 I/O pins. The pins can be each configured for either Input or Output separately. The device can be a very versatile I/O conduit for doing Hardware control projects. Additionally the device provides 1-Wire and SPI standard serial communications to control devices like Thermometers, AD/DA converters and MUCH more. It also has commands that make it easy to control a parallel LCD display.
Visit the USBmicro website for details. RB will have functions as part of the RB language that provide direct access the USB device and thus you will be able to easily create powerful Hardware control projects. The USBmicro website will soon be showing some sample applications written in RB.
Soon. So very very soon… Mwhahahahaaaa!
:-)
